Little League Day a Success for Lady Bears
April 4, 2006 Waco, Texas -
On a clear sunny Saturday, 74 Little Leaguers as well as 15 coaches, packed Getterman Stadium and cheered on the Lady Bears to a 1-0 victory over Texas Tech. The teams came from as far away as Plano just to watch the Lady Bears and to pick up a few tips. After the exciting victory, the little leaguers were given an opportunity to go onto the field, meet the team, and get autographs. While some of girls were getting autographs, about 100 girls from the Waco Baptist Association Girls in Action program gathered in on the outfield grass and listened to testimonies from Jordan Daniels, Brittany Turner and Sarah Hausner. They spoke about the importance of working hard and building a relationship with Christ. Overall the day was a big success. The Lady Bears came away with an important conference victory, and the Little Leaguers got to meet some of their heroes.
