Averaged 4.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.6 blocks on the season... Ranked third in Big 12 with 1.6 blocks per game, that average ranked as ninth-best single-season mark in school history... Slowed by various knee and ankle injuries - played in 18 of team's final 22 games, averaged 17.4 minutes per game in final 18 games played (23.0 mpg through first eight games)... 2005-06 (Redshirt Freshman): Starting center for every game during first year suiting up for Bears - the 17-game abbreviated 2005-06 season... Was named to Big 12 All-Freshman teams by Dallas Morning News and Waco Tribune-Herald after averaging 3.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and league-high 2.24 blocks... Demonstrated clear knack for blocking shots; finished first in the Big 12 and 36th nationally with 2.24 blocks per game... Finished second nationally among freshman in blocked shots (behind LSU's Tyrus Thomas)... 2.24 block average ranks fifth on school's single-season blocks list... 38 blocked shots ranks third on Baylor's freshman blocks list (second in average blocks)... 2004-05 (True Freshman): Attended spring semester at Baylor after arriving in United States in January... Did not play but practiced with team... Redshirted to retain eligibility... Named to Spring 2005 Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll for academic achievement... Earned highest GPA on squad in spring 2005.
INTERNATIONAL (pre-Baylor): Would have ranked among top 40 high school players in 2004 signing class nationally if a U.S. player, according to HoopScoop.com... Played for under-20 Senegalese national team in summer of 2004... Participated in Basketball Without Borders event for Africa's top 100 NBA prospects, held in South Africa in September 2004, included instruction from current and former NBA stars including Dikembe Mutombo and Malik Rose... Participated in Babacar Sy Basketball School during final two years of high school... Top player at Babacar Sy Basketball School in summer of 2003... Began playing organized basketball at age 15.
