Men's Tennis Edged Out by No. 6 UCLA
March 10, 2008 LOS ANGELES - The 11th-ranked Baylor men's tennis team was edged out by sixth-ranked UCLA on Monday afternoon at the Los Angeles Tennis Center. After the 4-3 loss, the Bears are now 10-6 on the season while UCLA's overall record moves 11-1. UCLA took the doubles point with wins on courts one and three. Baylor's David Galic and Denes Lukacs, ranked No. 54, took the match on court two with an 8-5 victory over Mathieu Dehaine and Harel Seguso. Baylor won singles matches on courts one, five and six. No. 10 Denes Lukacs downed Harel Strugo winning a first-set tiebreaker 7-6 (4) and taking the second set 6-4. After losing the first set at No. 5 singles 6-3, Jordan Rux rebounded to earn victory over Jeremy Drean, winning the final two sets, 7-5, 6-3. At No. 6 singles, Attila Bucko won two tiebreak sets, 7-6 (3), 7-6 (5) over Nick Meister. Baylor completes its southern California road trip on Wednesday, March 12 when it takes on 22nd-ranked Pepperdine at 1 p.m. (PT) at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center in Malibu. (6) UCLA def.
