The game versus No. 25 Texas marks the first of three straight games against ranked opponents and the first of three games in a six-day span. Baylor will play at No. 18 Kansas State on Saturday (12 p.m.) and at No. 21 Oklahoma State on Tuesday (7 p.m.). After matching its second-longest conference win streak on Saturday, six straight league wins, Baylor seeks to better that when it takes the floor against Texas. En route to its 2005 Big 12 championship, Baylor closed out its conference schedule with 11 straight wins and also won six straight in 2002. In 2008, Baylor has posted six straight league wins and 11 straight overall victories, Big 12 road decisions at Texas Tech (72-67), 11th-ranked Oklahoma (84-73) and Missouri (72-57) to go with home victories over No. 13 Texas A&M (59-56), Kansas (59-35) and Nebraska (76-56). A win against Texas would match the best start in school history when the 1975-76 squad began at 19-1. It defeated then-No. 12 California (69-56), lost to then-No. 5 Stanford (87-63), downed then-No. 13 Texas A&M (59-56) and triumphed over 11th-rated Oklahoma (84-73). - Baylor's No. 6 AP ranking is its highest listing since the Jan. 11, 2006, poll when it ranked No. 5. - Baylor ranks in the top 10 in NCAA Division I statistics in seven categories as of games through Jan. 27: No. 2 in won-lost percentage (94.7); No. 4 in both scoring margin (+23.5) and field goal percentage defense (33.8); No. 5 in blocked shots (6.7) and ; No. 8 in rebounding margin (+9.9), No. 9 in scoring defense (.535) and No. 10 in scoring offense (77.0). - Danielle Wilson's 3.1 blocks per game rank her No. 8 nationally. - Baylor's 80 percent field goal percentage (20-of-25) in the first half against N.C. A&T was the best percentage in a half since the Lady Bears shot 82.1 percent (23-of-28) in the second half against Texas Tech on Feb. 9, 2000 in Waco. - All five Baylor starters are averaging double-digit scoring: Angela Tisdale (15.1), Rachel Allison (13.8), Jhasmin Player (12.7), Danielle Wilson (11.7), Jessica Morrow (11.1). - BU owns the top game high mark in the league in six categories this season: FG % (.604 vs. N.C. Baylor boasts a 100% graduation rate by Lady Bears who have completed their athletic eligibility at BU since Coach Mulkey's arrival. - Danielle Wilson has blocked at least one shot in 46 of 52 career games, including 4 or more 17 times and 3 or more on 21 occasions. Wilson's wing span is 82.25 inches, only 5 inches less than Mamadou Diene, the 7-foot center on the Baylor men's team. - Wilson narrowly missed a triple-double when Baylor defeated Oregon. She hauled down 10 rebounds, rejected a school-record nine shots and scored nine points. - Tisdale has 437 career assists and needs just 21 to claim the top spot on BU's career chart from Chelsea Whitaker (457, 2002-05). She is the fourth player in school history to score more than 1,000 points and dish out at least 400 career assists. - Jhasmin Players' 13-of-13 effort from the free throw line against Saint Mary's and Danielle Wilson's nine blocks against Oregon both rank No. 1 in the Big 12. - The trio of Danielle Wilson (56), Jessika Bradley (23) and Jessica Morrow (21) have combined for 100 of the team's 127 season blocks. - On the season, Baylor has outscored its opponents by an average of 23.5 points a game and hauled down 9.9 more rebounds a contest. However, in Big 12 Conference play Baylor has outscored it opponents by 13.0 points a game and is +2.2 in rebounds. - Baylor led NCAA Division I last season in blocks per game with 7.2. So far this season the Lady Bears are averaging 6.7 a contest to rank No. 5 nationally. - Baylor held Kansas to 35 points, the fewest the Lady Bears have allowed in a Big 12 game since holding Oklahoma State to 27 points in Waco during the 2005-06 season. BAYLOR IN BIG 12 GAMES Lady Bears Under Kim Mulkey: SCOUTING THE LONGHORNS Texas head coach Gail Goestenkors is in her first season as the Longhorns' head coach and 16th year as a head coach overall. Goestenkors is 15-5 in her first season at Texas and 411-104 in 16 campaigns all-told along the sidelines. Texas is led in scoring by 6-0 sophomore guard Brittainey Raven's 16.1 points an outing. Junior Ashley Lindsey, a 6-4 forward, is the team's second-leading scorer and top rebounder with 11.3 points and 7.0 rebounds a contest. Kathleen Nash, a 6-2 freshman guard, comes off the bench to match Lindsay's rebounding mark with 7.0 boards a game. SERIES RECORD The Lady Bears are 13-20 versus the Longhorns in Waco and six of those wins have come since the arrival of head coach Kim Mulkey. Texas' lone victory in Waco during Mulkey's tenure came on Feb. 27, 2003 (79-57). Mulkey owns a 10-5 record against Texas, including a 6-1 mark in Waco. COMMON OPPONENTS WIN STREAKS COACHES PICK BAYLOR THIRD IN THE BIG 12 TISDALE JOINS ELITE GROUP In Baylor's 84-73 victory over 11th-ranked Oklahoma, Tisdale poured in a career-high 35 points, 15 of which came from 3-point range, she added two more against Missouri. She is now No. 2 on Baylor's career 3-point list and ranks No. 20 on the Baylor all-time scoring list. PLAYER SHOWS VERSATILITY Her assist/turnover ratio is impressive as well at 1.74, 68 assists with only 39 turnovers. ALLISON'S GOT A NOSE FOR THE BALL BAYLOR'S BLOCK MACHINE She has blocked 56 shots which ranks No. 2 in the conference in block average at 3.0 a game, that mark also ranks her No. 9 nationally. With her 15 blocks over the past four games, Wilson now has 142 career blocks and ranks No. 2 on Baylor's career list, passing Kacy Moffitt's 141. She needs just 17 rejections to surpass Steffanie Blackmon's top mark.
