ATLANTA - The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), in cooperation with State Farm, announced the finalists for the 2008 State Farm Coaches' All-America Basketball Team for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I. The 52 finalists, who are voted upon by WBCA-member coaches in each of the eight WBCA geographical regions. The State Farm Coaches' All-America Team selection committee will review these 52 candidates and cut the list to 40 finalists on Thursday, March 20. The 40 finalists will all be in the running for selection to the 10-member State Farm Coaches' All-America Team.

Baylor's Angela Tisdale earned State Farm Coaches' All-Region honors and is a candidate for the 2008 State Farm Coaches' All-America Basketball Team. Former Lady Bear Sophia Young became Baylor's first two-time WBCA All-American with selections in 2005 and `06. Suzie Snider Eppers became Baylor's first WBCA All-American in 1977 and Sheila Lambert was honored in 2002.

Tisdale, a 5-7 senior guard, is averaging a team-leading 16.2 points a game this season, which ranks among the Big 12 Conference leaders. In addition, she has tallied 97 assists and 48 steals en route to earning first-team All-Big 12 honors.

The State Farm Coaches' All-America Basketball Team for NCAA Division I will be announced at the State Farm Coaches' All-America Team Press Conference at the Tampa Hyatt Regency on April 5, at 9:45 a.m. (ET) in Tampa, Fla.
