WACO, Texas - The Baylor Lady Bear basketball program signed Brianna Brown to a National Letter of Intent head coach Kim Mulkey announced on Wednesday.

Brown, a 5-8 guard, hails from Chandler, Ariz., where she averaged 17 points, 7.7 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.7 steals per game for Hamilton High School. Brown led her team to a 17-11 record and the 5A state quarterfinals en route to earning region player of the year and first-team all-state honors.

"With the signing of Brianna Brown we bring more quickness and athleticism to our roster," said Mulkey. "She is a perimeter player who can play multiple positions."

Brown will be one of six newcomers on Baylor's 2008-09 roster. She joins Whitney Zachariason a mid-semester transfer from the University of Arkansas and signees Terran Condrey, Ashley Field, Lindsay Palmer and Cherrish Wallace.
