Baylor opens its 2008 season the weekend of Feb. 15, hosting Centenary, Purdue and Syracuse in the seventh-annual Getterman Classic. Action gets underway Friday, Feb. 15, at 10:00 a.m. as Syracuse takes on Centenary. The Lady Bears' first action is at 3:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, against Syracuse, followed by a 5:30 p.m. game against Purdue. This season marks the seventh rendition of the Getterman Classic. Baylor won each of the first two Getterman Classics, going 6-0 both years, before Pacific captured the 2004 title with a 5-0 record. Baylor reclaimed the title in 2005, posting a perfect 6-0 record as Tulsa claimed the 2006 title with a 3-1 record. The Lady Bears once again reclaimed the crown by going a perfect 6-0 in 2007. In 33 games, Baylor is 30-3 all-time at the Getterman Classic as the Lady Bears have out-scored opponents 231-52 over the tournament's six-year history.
